Where to buy Zcash: exchange status by region
In October 2026 ZEC is available on Kraken in the US, UK, Canada and the EU, on Coinbase (its pages show ZEC as available), on Gemini in the US, and on Binance and OKX in many regions. Licensed exchanges cannot offer it in South Korea, Japan, India, the UAE, the Philippines or Thailand, and Kraken excludes Australia.
Where you can buy Zcash depends mostly on where you live. Owning ZEC is legal in almost every country we track, but several regulators stop licensed exchanges from offering privacy coins, and some exchanges restrict ZEC region by region. The table below reflects exchanges' own pages and news reports checked in October 2026. Exchange status changes often, so always confirm in the exchange app before you sign up.

Global exchanges and ZEC
Binance
Binance tagged ZEC for monitoring in January 2024, put it in a delisting vote in April 2025, and removed the tag on 9 July 2025. It has never delisted ZEC globally. Binance requires deposits to come from transparent funds, which is why Zcash created TEX addresses (tex1...). OKX
OKX removed ZEC spot pairs in January 2024 and relisted ZEC in November 2025. Regional availability varies.
Kraken
Kraken lists ZEC against major currencies. Its regional-restrictions page lists ZEC as unavailable only for Australia, while it delisted ZEC for India (April 2026) and the UAE (June 2026).
Coinbase and Gemini
Coinbase lists ZEC in several regions but withdraws to transparent addresses only. Gemini supports shielded and unified-address withdrawals, but closed all UK, EEA and Australian accounts effective 6 April 2026 (Gemini support page) and does not offer ZEC in Singapore.

If no exchange serves you
If licensed exchanges cannot offer ZEC where you live, check whether private ownership is still legal on your country page; in most countries it is. Some people swap another coin they already hold into ZEC inside a wallet such as Zodl or Cake Wallet. Follow your local law, and do not use tools to get around an exchange's location checks: accounts can be frozen and funds lost.
