Unstoppable Wallet for Zcash: review

Unstoppable is an open-source, self-custodial multi-coin mobile wallet with fully shielded Zcash, listed as Ironwood-ready in October 2026. WalletScrutiny reports its builds as verifiable, and it is one of the few multi-coin wallets on F-Droid. It suits people who want shielded ZEC next to Bitcoin and Ethereum in an open-source app.

Unstoppable Wallet is a privacy-minded multi-coin wallet for iOS and Android. Unlike most multi-coin apps, which only handle transparent ZEC, it supports Zcash's shielded pools, and it received a Zcash-focused update in November 2025.

Why "verifiable" matters

Open-source code is only half the story: you also want to know that the app in the store was built from that code. WalletScrutiny, an independent project, tries to rebuild wallet apps from source and compare them with the published versions. Unstoppable's site cites WalletScrutiny's finding that its builds are verifiable. Few multi-coin wallets meet that bar.

Features

  • Fully shielded Zcash alongside Bitcoin, Ethereum and many other coins.
  • Built-in swap feature (providers and ZEC routing not verified by us).
  • Available on F-Droid for people who avoid Google Play.

Who Unstoppable suits

Unstoppable fits people who hold several coins, value open source and want their ZEC shielded. Compared with Edge, it uses a standard recovery phrase instead of a username and password, and its code is fully open. Compared with Cake Wallet, it covers more coins but has less Zcash-specific documentation about auto-shielding and migration. If Zcash is your main coin, Zodl offers more Zcash features.

Using shielded ZEC in Unstoppable

  • Give people your shielded or unified address, not a transparent one, unless the sender (such as an exchange) only supports transparent addresses.
  • If transparent ZEC arrives, shield it before spending. See how to shield ZEC.
  • Expect the standard network fee of about 0.0001 ZEC for a simple shielded payment (fees explained).
  • If the wallet held Orchard funds before 28 July 2026, update and confirm they have moved to Ironwood (guide).

Getting started

  1. Install from the App Store, Google Play or F-Droid, checking the developer name.
  2. Create a wallet and write the recovery phrase on paper.
  3. Enable Zcash in the coin list.
  4. Receive a small test amount to your shielded address and wait for it to confirm.
  5. Move larger amounts once the test works.

Privacy notes

Unstoppable's Zcash wallet is a light client: it scans compact blocks on your phone, so the server learns your IP address and sync times but not your balance. Swaps involve third-party providers who see the amounts and addresses on both sides. Unstoppable does not document Tor for Zcash syncing, so if network privacy matters during sensitive moves, a wallet with built-in Tor such as Zodl or Zkool may suit you better.

Verdict

Unstoppable is one of the best multi-coin wallets for Zcash: open source, verifiable, shielded and Ironwood-ready. It lacks some Zcash-specific extras, but it is an excellent choice if you want one trustworthy app for many coins.

Safety notes

  • The official site is unstoppable.money. Type it yourself and use its store links, or check the developer name.
  • Write the recovery phrase on paper and keep it offline.
  • Be careful with swaps: double-check the receiving address and amount, and only swap with services that operate legally where you live.
