Zcash mining profitability calculator

Enter your miner's hashrate, power draw and electricity price. The calculator loads the live network hashrate and ZEC price and estimates daily and monthly earnings after pool fees and electricity, from the ZEC that miners receive each day (about 1,440 ZEC until the next halving).

How it is calculated

Your expected share of mining income is your hashrate divided by the network hashrate. Until the next halving (expected around late November 2028), the network issues about 1,800 ZEC a day: until NU7 that is 1.5625 ZEC per 75-second block, of which 80% goes to miners, so miners share about 1,440 ZEC a day. The NU7 upgrade (planned around 5 November 2026) makes blocks three times faster with proportionally smaller rewards while keeping the schedule, which is why we calculate per day rather than per block. Electricity is watts × 24 ÷ 1,000 × your price per kWh.

The defaults use an Antminer Z15 Pro (840 kSol/s at 2,780 W, Bitmain's specification); change them for your machine. Zcash uses Equihash, which is mined with ASICs: CPUs and GPUs are not competitive. See network stats and the halving countdown.

Frequently asked questions

Is Zcash mining profitable?

It depends on your ASIC's efficiency, electricity price and the ZEC price. Use the calculator with your own numbers; many setups only pay off with cheap power.

Can I mine Zcash with a GPU?

Technically yes, but Equihash ASICs are far more efficient, so GPU mining is not profitable.

What happens to mining income at the halving?

Issuance halves, so at the same hashrate and price your ZEC income falls by half.

Does NU7 change mining income?

It is designed not to change daily issuance: blocks come every 25 seconds instead of 75, with rewards scaled down accordingly.
